ABOUT US:
The Live Data unit is responsible for the development, delivery, and global distribution of real-time sports data across a diverse range of sporting events. Through strong partnerships with rights holders, media organizations, and betting companies worldwide, the unit ensures the seamless provision of accurate, high-quality data across 30+ different sports disciplines, including e-sports.
Currently, we develop Scout Management Platform – a comprehensive solution for managing scouting operations, including scout communication, match allocation, quality management, invoicing, recruitment, and scheduling, as well as match proposals and tournament organization.
THE CHALLENGE:
As a Tech Lead in our Live Data Team, you’ll take on a central role in driving the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable, high-performance systems that power real-time sports data. This is a high-impact position with real tech influence, where your decisions will shape the evolution of our platforms and help define best practices across teams.
We’re looking for someone who brings technical excellence, a strong product mindset, and a deep understanding of modern software engineering. You advocate for simplicity, clean code, and clean architecture. You’re also a champion of continuous improvement, pairing, TDD, and collaborative feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development scalable, high-performance services on top of our real-time sports data, collected 24/7 globally for more than 30 different sports
Set engineering standards for code quality, testing, and delivery practices through mentorship and example
Partner with architects and product stakeholders to influence technology strategy and ensure solutions are scalable and maintainable
Drive cloud-first development by maximizing our AWS capabilities, focusing on automation, observability, and resilience
Promote a DevOps culture with continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and proactive monitoring
Mentor and coach developers across the team, fostering a growth mindset and technical ownership
Stay hands-on with code while contributing to architectural discussions and long-term planning

Required:
Strong software engineering background with Java
Proven experience with TDD, XP practices, and pair programming
Demonstrated ability to drive technical direction and mentor others
Solid understanding of clean architecture and design principles
Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams
Experience with cloud-based appreciations and microservices (AWS)
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Desirable experience:
Prior experience with PHP
Experience with automation testing on various levels (BDD, Performance testing, Contract testing)
Knowledge of distributed event streaming solutions (Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar)
Understanding how the code can be shipped (Docker, Kubernetes)
