What’s New in the MLB API for the 2026 Season

As the 2026 MLB season approaches, we’re rolling out new MLB API enhancements that deliver deeper insight, better transparency, and more complete coverage across play, game, and player data—all included with your existing MLB API.

Here’s what’s new:
New Endpoints

Play Statistics Endpoint

  • Deeper, play-level statistical detail beyond standard play-by-play
  • Enables more advanced analysis and richer in-game storytelling

Full Roster Endpoint

  • Single view of all players associated with a team
  • Includes:
    • Minor League players
    • Suspended players
    • Non-Roster Invitees (NRI)
Game-Level Data Enhancements

Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) Indicators

  • Shows a team’s usage of the ABS system

No-Hitters & Perfect Games

  • Identified at both the player and team level

Ejections in Play-by-Play

  • Ejections now captured as a discrete PBP event

Schedule Improvements

  • Visibility into deleted games

Statcast Tracking Coverage

  • Indicates the level of tracking coverage available for each game
Player-Level Updates
  • Stat Qualification Indicators
  • Improved Stat Calculations for greater accuracy
  • Estimated Injury Return information for better availability tracking
