Please note that declining to provide your personal data to our talent acquisition personnel where needed may result in the altogether halting of the recruitment process.

Sportradar operates at the intersection of the sports, media, and betting industries, delivering top-tier technology solutions to sports organizations, media companies, and betting operators to drive business growth and to promote an integrity-driven environment that safeguards the sports industry. 3. What Personal Data Do We Collect?

3.1.   During the recruitment process, our talent acquisition personnel may collect, process and store the following categories of personal data:

  • personal data you have provided to us in your CV and/or in your cover letter;
  • personal data you have provided to us via an application form, e.g., full name, photo, email address, phone number, city/address, social media profile handles, education, experience, how you heard about us and where you saw the opportunity, notice period, legal status, desired annual salary, personal or professional relationships at Sportradar, previous employment at Sportradar;
  • personal data from publicly available sources, e.g., LinkedIn;
  • personal data about you provided to us by your referees;
  • personal data provided to us by you during interviews at our office premises and/or via Microsoft Teams or other channels of communication;
  • personal data about gender (where permitted by law and provided voluntary for processing by Sportradar for our legitimate interests as described in Section 4 of this Notice);
  • personal data about race, ethnicity and disability (where required under applicable law in specific jurisdictions);
  • if successful, any personal data necessary to enter into a contract of employment, e.g., bank account number, social security number, excerpt from criminal register, background screening checks.

3.2. When providing us with your personal data, unless requested by us where permitted by law or legally required in specific jurisdiction, Sportradar kindly request that you refrain from supplying us with any additional unsolicited personal data. In particular, we request that you refrain from supplying us with sensitive personal data relating to:

  • your racial and ethnic origin;
  • your political opinions;
  • your religious and philosophical beliefs;
  • your trade union membership;
  • data concerning your health;
  • data concerning your sex life or sexual orientation.

Sportradar does not seek to obtain and will not collect and process such sensitive personal data about you unless permitted and/or required under the applicable laws and regulations in the locations we operate.

4. How Do We Process Your Personal Data?

4.1. For What Purposes Do We Process Your Personal Data?

We may process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • for recruitment purposes, i.e., to find and hire the best candidate for a job opening;
  • to administer and to generally conduct business within the Company;
  • to survey on candidate experience;
  • for recruitment marketing, i.e., to inform you via job alerts about new job openings;
  • for talent pool purpose, i.e., to find, contact and hire the best candidates for future job openings;
  • to comply with applicable laws and regulations;
  • to ensure the integrity and suitability of successful candidates in order to protect Sportradar’s business, employees, clients, and assets;
  • to enter into employment relationship with successful candidates;
  • to track the diversity of our applicant pool, identify areas for improvement, and evaluate the success of our attraction and recruitment strategies

4.2. On What Legal Grounds Do We Process Your Data?

In order to process your personal data, we may rely on different legal grounds, including:

We rely on legitimate interests when

  • we process your personal data for recruitment purposes, i.e., to find and hire the best candidate for a job opening, to administer and generally conduct business within the Company, to survey on candidate experience, to ensure the integrity and suitability of successful candidates (unless it is required under local laws or is subject to consent);
  • we process gender data (always optional with candidates allowed to select ‘prefer not to say’) in order to track the diversity of our applicant pool, identify areas for improvement, and evaluate the success of our attraction and recruitment

When we rely on legitimate interests, you can always object to such processing of your personal data by contacting us as described in Section 11 of this Notice.

Your consent

We rely on your consent when we process your personal data for recruitment marketing, i.e., to inform you via job alerts about new job openings, and to include you in our talent pool. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us as described in Section 11 of this Notice.

Compliance with legal obligations and/or to exercise or defend ourselves from legal claims

In some cases, we may process your personal data in order to ensure that we comply with applicable laws and regulations, e.g., we may be subject to notification obligations or we have to retain your data for a certain period of time stipulated by law, or in order to exercise or defend ourselves from legal claims.

The necessity to establish a contractual relationship with you

We may process your personal data in order to enter into a contract with you and to perform our obligations under the contract.

4.3.  Artificial Intelligence and Automated Decision-Making:

In principle, you will generally not be subject to decisions that will have significant impact on you based solely on automated decision-making. Furthermore, Sportradar is committed to ensuring that any use of Artificial Intelligence (″AI″) aligns with high ethical and trustworthiness standards. Where applicable, we have taken the necessary organisational and technical measures to comply with all applicable AI regulations, including but not limited to the EU AI Act. AI technology from SmartRecruiters may assist in our recruitment process, but will not be relied on for automated decision-making that may have significant impact on you.  Any use of AI technology provided by SmartRecruiters that could potentially have significant impact on you is subject to human review.

5. When Do We Disclose Your Personal Data?

Sportradar may disclose your personal data as follows:

  • within the family of companies controlled by Sportradar for internal reasons, primarily for business and operational purposes, as well as to their subcontractors or other trusted third parties;
  • if we go through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal data will likely be among the assets transferred;
  • when legally required to do so (e.g., to cooperate with law enforcement investigations or other legal proceedings).

6. International Data Transfers

If your personal data is collected within the European Economic Erea (EEA) or United Kingdom and Switzerland and transferred to countries outside the EEA or United Kingdom and Switzerland in which applicable laws do not offer the same level of data protection, we ensure similar protection and put in place, for example, one of these safeguards:

  • we will transfer your personal data to countries that have been found by the EEA or the United Kingdom to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data;
  • we will also use standard contractual clauses approved by the EEA and/or United Kingdom, together with any supplementary measures required, with third parties that are based in countries outside the EEA or United Kingdom and Switzerland and take measures to ensure that they provide an adequate level of data protection. These standard contractual clauses grant your personal data similar protection as in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland (as appropriate).

7. How Do We Secure Your Personal Data?

Sportradar has implemented appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk involved in order to protect your personal data against a breach of security leading to the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to, your personal data transmitted, stored or otherwise processed. Sportradar’s employees are required to keep personal data confidential.

8. How Long Is Your Personal Data Kept?

8.1. In case you are a successful candidate and you decide to accept our offer of employment, we will retain any relevant personal data collected during the recruitment process for the duration of the employment relationship. Background screening check information collected during the recruitment process is retained for a period of 24 months for candidates in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), and 36 months for all other non-U.S. candidates up to 36 months.

8.2. After the termination of the employment relationship, we will retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to comply with legal obligations under the applicable laws and regulations, for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by Sportradar where necessary and where such legitimate interests are not overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the candidates and for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

8.3. In case you are an unsuccessful candidate, we keep your personal data on file for 12 months after the date on which your application was reviewed and rejected on our SmartRecruiters career website.

9. What Are Your Data Protection Rights?

Once you have provided us with your personal data, you may request to exercise your data protection rights under applicable laws and regulations, such as, among others,

  • right of access
  • right of rectification
  • right of erasure
  • right of restriction of processing
  • right of data portability
  • withdrawal of consent
  • right to object to processing,

insofar as the conditions for the exercise of these rights provided under applicable laws and regulations are met. Sportradar may need to verify your identity before responding to your request.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes applicable law. We would request that you contact us in the first instance to allow us to remedy any complaints.

Sportradar reserves the right, at its discretion, to update, change, modify, add or amend this Notice.
