Getting engagement from fans is great. But let’s be honest. Converting that engagement into clicks, shares, sales, and bets is the real goal.
In this post, we’ll show you how our Insights product does just that – for both college and pro football fans.
What is Sportradar Insights?
A content creation platform that combines AI with the most extensive sport’s databases on the planet to bring you compelling stats and facts. Use them to tell better stories and build up hype before, during, and after football games – encouraging fans to tune in to the action, buy tickets, bet, and purchase merchandise.
Insights in action
Last season Insights created approximately 200 different data points of content for each NFL game. Those snippets of data gave fans crucial info, like when a quarterback’s about to reach a career-high in passing yards or what experts predict the outcome of a game will be against the spread.
Football Focus – three ways Insights can create more action this season
1. Encourage more bets
In 2021, 12.5% of pro-football fans bet on the NFL – that’s more than the NBA, MLB, NHL, and college basketball combined. And college football ranks third out of the “big six” at 8.5%.
Insights help you engage with these betting fans and grow that audience.
How? We built five of the twelve Insights for college and pro football specifically to encourage more bets: Player Betting Trends, Team Betting Trends, Betting Splits, Expert Picks, and Game & Player Predictions. Insights like these give people the confidence to place bets by showing them:
You can even combine multiple betting Insights. Here’s an example that combines Expert Picks with Betting Splits:
“65% of experts are picking the over in tonight’s University of Georgia at Alabama game. Draft Kings currently lists the over/under at 52.5 points. Head to our website to bet now.”
2. By driving more ticket and merchandise sales
Combining multiple Insights gives fans concrete reasons to buy a ticket for a game or get the latest merchandise.
Here’s an example using Milestones and Leaderboards from Insights to sell merchandise :
“Matt Ryan becomes the eighth player in NFL history to reach 58,000 career-passing yards. Celebrate by getting yourself this special commemorative t-shirt.”
You can also use Milestones, Leaderboards, or Team Betting Trends before a game to persuade people to get themselves a ticket. “Aaron Rodgers is one passing touchdown away from reaching 430 in his career. Only four other players in NFL history have achieved this. Don’t miss your chance to see this historic moment in person – buy your ticket now.”
3. By getting you more followers
Don’t just report breaking news – give fans the info they won’t find anywhere else. With Insights like Highs, Lineup Changes, and Scoring, you can fill your social feeds with unique content that takes a deeper look at news, events, and betting information. Which means more likes, shares, and follows.
Let’s see that in action. This post, generated by our Scoring Insight, includes breaking news (the current score in the game) as well as historical info to add context and create buzz:
“The Cincinnati Bengals lead 20–16 heading into the 4th quarter. This season the Bengals are 8–1 leading heading into the 4th quarter, and NFL teams are 221–37 when leading going into the 4th quarter this season.”
Create content that converts with Insights
Fox Sports, Dan Patrick, and the Toronto Star are just a few of the household names already using Insights to super-charge their content and drive action from their audience.
