The German independent media corporation rounded up some of the most talented developers, designers and idea generators in Europe for a whole weekend, challenging them to transform innovative digital entertainment ideas into valuable prototypes.

A jury of thought-leading investors and experts from the media industry ended up selecting three winners after a round of short pitch presentations in which 14 international teams introduced the prototypes they had developed.

Sportradar were the exclusive provider of sports data for the event and provided some of the prizes for the software developers and UI/UX designers that had used the Sportradar SDK during the hackathon.

Speaking about the event, Antonia Borek, Innovation Manager TV & Digital Technology at ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE focused on its success: “Having Sportradar on board at 7Hack 2016 was great both for the participants and for ProSiebenSat.1. Not only because of the accurate data but also because of the generous prizes, many of the participants used sports data to combine with our entertainment features, which proves to be a very interesting concept since many of the teams successfully linked those two. We are very much looking forward to inviting Sportradar to our next 7Hack!”

hack8“The whole weekend was a truly rewarding experience for the talented developers and designers that teamed up to experience the creative atmosphere of the hackathon that created new software and competed against each other for prizes” added Luka Pataky, Innovation and Business Development Manager at Sportradar.

“This partnership with ProSiebenSat.1 has been really rewarding for us at Sportradar as well. First and foremost it has helped us position Sportradar as the leading brand in the digital sport world. But seeing ideas being turned into prototypes is another rewarding aspect. We also managed to showcase our software development kit and data feeds, which were perfectly complemented by our team of software engineers who were on hand during the two days to provide immediate technical support to the teams. At the end of the day, events like 7hack are a great opportunity to meet innovation-driven talent and experts and to position Sportradar as a great company to work for and work with.”
